To throw everything into the tumble dryer!

I am careful what items of clothing I put into the dryer. I check the labels and if they don't have the dryer symbol I place them on the line or the clothes horse to dry.

I am tempted to just toss all items into the dryer. Bar woolen or delicate items of course.

I'm just fed up of the laundry mountain.

I don't to buy a dehumidifier. My house is already so cluttered.

I do. Nothing bad has ever happened 😃

Dartmoorcheffy · 15/01/2024 16:19

I put everything apart from woolen items in the dryers

I chuck most things in the dryer even when they say not to. However, none of these things are sentimental or expensive-those have label instructions followed! So far nothing has failed to survive and no shrinkage, although I tend to tumble until 95% dry and hang near radiator for a few hours to finish; this is because a fair few clothes are close fitting with no wriggle room for shrinkage, so to speak!

DrDisrespect · 15/01/2024 16:29

I put the majority of stuff in my tumble dryer, apart from things (usually dark/black) that I know will fade. I've never had anything shrink...although I have used that excuse when things get tight when I know I've just put on a bit of weight 🤣

TheChosenTwo · 15/01/2024 16:30

I put in everything that can be tumbled.
and use an airer for those that can’t.
I used to just shove everything in and the amount of clothes I shrank was shocking 😂

UnfortunateTypo · 15/01/2024 16:32

Everything goes in the drier apart from jumpers, they get shoved on the radiator for a couple of hours. Never had a problem.

LegoDeathTrap · 15/01/2024 16:35

Your jeans will shrink!!!

Wool is an absolute absolutely don’t even think about it it will be comically bad no-no.

Very nice thin tops… probably not.

Everything else - mah.

LumpyPumpkin · 15/01/2024 16:39

I always chuck everything in, except jumpers. Never had anything shrink or get damaged.

As long as you're not going to be heartbroken if anything does happen to go wrong, then go for it.

ALonelyRoad · 15/01/2024 16:39

I tumble dry everything... if it survives, great. If it doesn't, it's not going to get used anyway because I cannot be bothered separating clothes and having a clothes horse in the way.

Noseyoldcow · 15/01/2024 16:51

When I first met my husband, many moons ago, I "helped" him at the laundromat by putting all his wooden jumpers in the drier with the rest of the washing. Predictably, they all shrank so much they wouldn't fit the average 5 year old. He mustn't half have fancied me to get over that!
You'd think I'd have learned my lesson, but I've had a fair few washing and drying disasters over the years, so these days I always check the care labels before I buy clothes.
Having said that, I now have a super duper tumble drier that can be set anywhere from cold (useful for getting creases out of non tumble dry stuff) to as hot as you like. But I always check before I bung anything in it.

Ponderingtosk · 15/01/2024 17:06

I always add a dry hand towel to the load. It’s supposed to speed thing up.

BlueGrey1 · 15/01/2024 17:27

I only put cotton /non shrinkable items in the dryer as it destroys everything else over time,
