And had a good experience actually . This is just a light hearted thread as there are so many horror stories about A and E. Not to cast any doubt on other people’s awful experiences, but just to offer up a positive experience. DS17 got knocked over by a car on his cycle route to school ( ended up on car’s windscreen which shattered). Ambulance were at the scene quickly. DH went over and stayed in ambulance while they checked him over. He had a scan, X-ray and bloods taken. Must have got to A and E at around 9:30 am. All tests were done promptly and we had the results by about 1:30 pm, registrar came and spoke to us and then we were off as thankfully nothing broken. We were even offered a hot meal while in chair area of A and E! No luxury and cramped area to sit in but I’m just grateful we have an NHS.

Same here! Only a minor injury but was in, treated, and out within 30 minutes - very impressed and grateful. God bless the NHS.

He would have been whisked to the top of triage though. Somewhat different if you haven't had a serious accident.

I hope he recovers quickly.

Thanks, he’s doing fine, just a bit of a limp and, I hope, an improved attitude towards cycling safety.
