As the old one is full, I thought I would start a new one! Here is mine

Though HiFi stands for high fidelity, WiFi doesn't stand for anything! It is just the name for the radio signal from your router 😁

I thought the Wi bit stood for wireless? Not sure about the Fi 🤣

Edit: Just googled. It’s wireless fidelity.

@Splat92, I was going to tag you in the previous post, but I was too late to the party
In the Christmas Carol "The First Noel", I suppose because of the emphasis on the word, I assumed for several years that certain was a verb. I thought those poor shepherds were being certained (not sure I thought about what that might mean though)
I was literally going to post the exact same thing. It was only last year that I was telling my DD that I didn't understand what 'certaining' someone meant, and she then enlightened me. I am 56 years old!!

Forgot to add my own. I always thought that using scissors was really uncomfortable. That was because I tried to use them with my thumb in the larger 'hole' and 2 fingers in the smaller space. I figured that a thumb is bigger than a finger, so needs more room. I am sure someone must have tried to correct me as a child, but I still automatically try it 'my way'.

The beginning of this thread reminds me: my maternal granny (Londoner, born in the early 1900s) used to call her radio the ''Wahhlis''. I never questioned it. It's her wahhlis ...
I was a teen before i had the lightbulb moment: Wireless! 🙄😅 She was saying wireless all this time and i was just mishearing.

Second - my embarrassing penny drops moment: antarctic vs arctic. Could never quite work out if they were two different places or what? Then the penny dropped - ant, as in underneath, afterwards, whatever - antarctic is south, arctic is north <face palm>
