Graduate recruitment process is tough

DC has just completed psychometric testing and a Hirevue virtual interview which is screened and marked by AI for a graduate role. Does anyone ever actually see the video, do you think or is it just an arbitrary score from those tests?
I am really glad that my job interviews were in person! I don't think I could pass these and I have had a successful career. I get why companies use them, but maybe it doesn't always get them the right candidates.

AIBU: The pressure from these types of interviews is ridiculous

This type of interviewing has been going for decades mainly with blue chip companies at any level

Some US companies based in the UK also ask for drug testing

I watched my daughter do one for a blue chip company after her application form through the first step. It was horrendously stressful and tricky and she is certainly not stupid. I reckon most people I know with successful careers would fail. Such a shame they don’t do them at same time as the interviews which is what they used to do as they can’t weigh up strengths and weaknesses. It’s just a computer saying no. I can’t see how this brings in recruits with a wide variety of skill sets.
its always been a difficult process but this feels so demoralising to make the bar so high just to get an interview .

Hirevue virtual interviews being scored by AI have not been going in for decades
