Visiting Hometown with newborn

Just looking for some advice hopefully! I have a 2 month old and next month my husband and I are taking her to my hometown (only 1.5 hour flight away). My parents live in quite a rural/country location with not great transport links so my husband and I would ideally like to stay in a city near my parents, this is where my best friends live and I am introducing my baby to all of them (my parents have already visited with my baby twice before) during our stay I wanted to invite my parents to join us in the city for a day or overnight to spend some time together (it is only 45mins drive from where they live) Do you think this is reasonable? We will rely on public transport when we are there and as I mentioned the transport is not great where my parents live so we would either have to do lots of travel to get to my friends (2 trains, 1 bus) or we would need to drive and that would mean taking a car seat which we don’t really want to do!

I think it's fine but just be upfront.
As it's your one chance to see everyone you want to stay centrally, would X be close enough for them to come to you? Perhaps you can do Y together on such and such day.
