It's my works Christmas meal tonight.. it will be paid for by the boss. I've just had a filling and my mouth is so numb.. I've also got somewhat of an upset stomach.
AIBU to not go, and miss a free meal?

If you have an upset stomach are you up to eating a full Xmas meal, free or not?
Missing point of thread but why are your work having their Xmas meal in Jan 🤔

Our firm has its Xmas do in January too. It's not uncommon

Ktime · 12/01/2024 16:31

What time is the meal? I had a filling last week and it was fine within a couple of hours.

Pineapplewaves · 12/01/2024 16:34

Do you want to go?

If yes, go, order some soup and ice cream, have a few alcoholic/ice laden drinks to numb the pain and enjoy catching up with your colleagues.

If you don't want to go you have a genuine excuse to get out of it.

I've got mine tonight too and panicked when I read the OP. If anyone doesn't turn up, I'm going to think it's them 🤣🤣

We're just far too busy in November, December and at the start of January.

It kind of signifies to us, that the worst of the manic stuff is over.

@TeapotTitties
Have a lovely time tonight.

Anaesthetic from a filling will wear off soon enough.

But if you have an upset stomach then you shouldn't be going to mix with others for fear of spreading it, but also, surely wouldn't be able to / want to eat a meal anyway?
