Grateful for any advice for a first post. My neighbours are the type of neighbours everyone would love...easy going, friendly, happy to talk but equally quite private. They have parties where you can just hear the laughter and music which is great and the husband occasionally plays drums which is great...yes really. its nice to hear the sound of people. I live in a back to back semi - single brickwork so when I moved many moons ago I packed the dividing wall with sound insulation throughout the house having a young child of 4 and being a single mum, I didn't think anyone would appreciate a young one banging about or the noise of DIY particularly as they were elderly neighbours at the time.
You can sense the 'but' coming here and they really are ideal neighbours - people would seriously pay to have them live next door but....the noise of their heating developed over the last couple of years to become a whooshing drone that you could hear and feel vibrating across every adjoining room. I did speak to them a year or so ago when it became unbearable and they turned their heating off just as we were going into flipping winter which made me feel awful but they were still so nice about it. They do have woodburner and did get a diesel heater but it must have been miserable for them. Things resolved last autumn when their water tank was replaced and we discussed the problems which appear to be water hammer - the previous elderly neighbours did some daft elbow joints with the pipes and the pump. All was well until few months into winter and its now at the stage where I either stay in a attic office from 07:00 with earbuds and binaural/ ADHD music until its time to go to bed. Go into the warmest room in the house with the TV on full blast on, grey/ white noise. I am at wits end and MH is shredded, constant headaches and just done with it all. I forgot to mention in this that they rent their home - landlords responsibility but he's got no money.
Any ideas or shall I just move
