AIBU to ask your favourite Taylor Swift lyrics?

I’m seeing the Eras Tour this year, just so excited. I’m making friendship bracelets with lyrics - can any fans share some of their favourites for inspo?

I write and sing my own songs, play guitar etc and I have huge love and respect for Taylor's songwriting AND the way she performs them - all this is aside from her brilliant vocals anyway - there is so much to choose from - she often writes great little narratives - there is far more than just a hook - some of what she writes is poetic in what she chooses to write about (forget poetry being end rhyming only - there's far more to poetry than that) and in the sound of the words she uses - I know from my own writing and from other songs I am drawn to, for instance, that 3 or 4 syllable words are often very singable - you can do a lot with them to shape them to a melody and to fit in rhythmically - I think, unless you write and sing you probably won't have picked up on that but just listen to songs that catch your ear and you'll notice these 3 and 4 syllable words all over the place and Taylor frequently dies this anyway - aside from the words looking interesting in the page they have to be singable so having said all that I'll pick something else, some other aspect I find in her songwriting - and there are many examples - take a song like Betty - there is a line that grabs me by the heart every time I hear it - it's so emotionally powerful - it's the line

I'm only seventeen, I don't know anything
But I know I miss you

It's simple everyday language - (OK you have your 3 syllable words seventeen and anything) - it's often the best way to capture simple everyday experiences - she captures something we can all perhaps relate to - the red faced feeling of stupid naivety, of having made a stupid mistake which you now regret.

I could zoom in on a hundred lines - Blank Space is utterly brilliant in so many ways.

I am so jealous!!

I gasped the first time I heard it, it evoked so much in terms of memories of an ex.

In fact, the whole song is just a masterpiece. Cinematic. Dancing in the kitchen in the refrigerator light. You keep my old scarf there from that very first week, cause it reminds you of innocence and it smells like me.

from My Tears Ricochet, it gives me a lump in my throat at how poignant it is
