American style fridge

My husband is determined to to get an American style fridge for our home. He thinks they're brilliant and feels as the kids get older they are worth it. I'm not convinced.
We have all integrated appliances currently and an American fridge would stick out so I understand this more on me preferring cosmetic.
I don't feel the kitchen is big enough to accommodate an American fridge.
I would also loose another press in order to fit this in which is where I keep my cleaning/dog stuff.
I also find fresh fruit and salads don't last any length of time so need to be topped up anyway whereas I think his idea is we do one big monthly shop as opposed to weekly.
American style fridges are heavier on electricity and I'd imagine a pain to clean which will fall on me.
Can anyone convince me otherwise please 😂

Monthly instead of weekly?
Virtually nothing kept in a fridge lasts much more than a week!

I have two kids...we currently have to shop twice a week just to have enough food in date!

Personally never been a fan of integrated appliances and think you should get the biggest fridge freezer that fits and the best you can afford.....doesn't have to be "American style" or have a water dispenser but storage space is king

If he wants to shop for fresh produce so infrequently though then he needs a Sub Zero - they scrub the air of bacteria using technology invented by Nasa and have 2 compressors to keep the fridge humid and the freezer dry. Apparently a carrot can last 5 months. About £35,000 for a large one though so perhaps you could just employee someone full time to go to the supermarket for you? 🤣
