Vibrating ceiling. It's a neighbour one

In the last few weeks, I can hear vibrating from footsteps in my bedroom from the upstairs neighbour. It's literally vibrating my ceiling and the equivalent of nails on a chalkboard. It's hard to describe but it's as if they are walking so heavily that it sounds as if a piece of furniture is moving around. It's incredibly annoying and just around the time I am putting DS to bedtime.

It's never been an issue before now and I wonder if they have removed a rug or carpet or something. And yes it does sound like joyous bed shaking but the vibrations are only 5-10 shakes at a time so sounds more like someone walking across the room 😕
The ceilings in my property are lowered with insulation so usually no noise travels at all.

WIBU to gently ask them to stop doing whatever it is they are doing to cause the noise?

If it's relevant they are tenants and I have regular contact with their landlord (ongoing maintenance issues), I am unsure whether to have a word with the landlord as well.

TIA.

Neighbour threads can always go either way so I'm bracing myself.

I don’t think it would hurt to ask them of something has changed and explain how it is impacting you. I wouldn’t rush off to their landlord with out talking to your neighbour first.
