Ridiculous stomach pains 😢

Posting for a bit of advice really.

Had awful stomach pain for about 4 hours. Started just above belly button but now it’s moved further up - still centrally above belly button though. There’s time it spreads bilaterally to my back. Tried rennie, milk and paracetamol which is unfortunately the strongest thing I’ve got at the minute.

So miserable as it seems to be getting worse 🙁

Call 111

saveforthat · 07/01/2024 20:00

Yeah definitely call 111. Just to rule out anything serious

custardlover · 07/01/2024 20:01

Sounds like my experience of appendicitis- the pain travels. call 111.

Fairysteps11 · 07/01/2024 20:05

Gallbladder potentially. Ring 111 or a and e

ExtraOnions · 07/01/2024 20:08

Jumping onto the long line of 111 recommendations, very familiar to how I felt with gallstones. No longer have a gallbladder and stupidly suffered for a long time with never once getting any help during attack - please get yourself looked at!

ManateeFair · 07/01/2024 20:08

Sounds a lot like gallstones to me (I speak from experience).

Hokeypokeyz · 07/01/2024 20:11

Thank you all. If it is gallstones is there any point getting seen at OOH?

Sounds like a textbook gallbladder attack to me too. You may get seen if you're still having the attack, or they may tell you to treat with hot water bottle and buscopan if you've got any. Give them a ring anyway though. And hope it passes soon.

existentialpain · 07/01/2024 20:24

Gastritis pain is like that. Get seen though.

ChedderGorgeous · 07/01/2024 20:29

It could be quite a few things: Gallstones, infection of the gallbladder, pancreatitis, gastritis etc (the list is much longer). Unfortunately mumsnet can't diagnose you or reassure you. I would attend A and E if the pain is getting worse and at the very least discuss with 111.

ExtraOnions · 07/01/2024 20:32

OOH can’t do too much for Gallstones. For me, I just take painkillers and wait for it to pass, normally about 6 hours or so.

FinneganFois · 07/01/2024 20:59

Fatty liver perhaps? Apparently you don't have to be overweight, and the pain is usually on the right side of ribcage, please dial 111 if you haven't already.

Hokeypokeyz · 07/01/2024 21:07

Thank you all. It’s still there but i think it could just be gallstones so I don’t want to sit around in a&e for hours in pain for them not to be able to help
