Sorry for posting here for traffic but I'm struggling to find answers through my own research.

My DH has a new job and we're looking to move to Bristol area as a result of this. Any advice on best areas to aim for or areas to avoid? Any primary schools to avoid??

Doesn't necessarily have to be in Bristol city itself, surrounding areas would be okay too. I'm just finding it so hard to figure it all out. House move with so many unknowns plus school move for multiple kids is making my brain explode!

Please help 🙏🙏🙏

This is clearly a resurrected thread but Bristol is an amazing place. We've lived here for 20 years after moving from Manchester. We live in north Bristol and I would recommend most of the areas round here- it's a great place xxx

@everygreensock - bit of a sweeping statement about londoners moving to Bristol and not being friends with locals.

I moved from London 20 years ago, after studying my postgraduate. Ended up marrying a friend from my course, who is a Bristolian and my two best friends, that I met through my first job, are both Bristolians.

OP - Based on your budget, you'd get more value for money buying in South Bristol. Totterdown/Knowle/Brislington are nice areas in South Bristol with a great community vibe. I lived in Brislington for 8 years before moving to Knowle and I've lived here with my family for 10 years.

Clifton/Redland/Henleaze are lovely areas but pricey.

Primary schools in Bristol are fairly good but, as pp have commented, secondary schools in Bristol are rather mixed so you may want to look on the city council website to see the 'admission distance' of any schools that you would want to consider for your kids when deciding where you'd want to move to.
