Generator/jetwashing/leaf blowing/argh noise this morning

We live in a row of terraced houses. It looks like our neighbours chose an 8.30am slot this morning to have their gutters/roof/patios simultaneously jetwashed, powered by the world's noisiest generator (right outside the window) and operated by three men who've sustained a shouting argument with each other for two hours and counting. AIBU to feel the absolute rage? May be clouded by a migraine and a week of particularly broken sleep with a baby. She finally settled at about half six.

I don't think you are BU. 8.30am on a Sunday is too early. However, you will get a ton of posters coming on to tell you that it's fine because 8.30 am is practically lunchtime as far as they're concerned.

Sorry that your precious rest was disturbed.Flowers

I was one of the folk saying no issue to a 9.30 Sunday morning kids party, but I think noisy work at that time on a Sunday morning is unreasonable.
Isn't there some guidance about time for stuff like that? And it's pretty much no go from Saturday lunch until Monday?

Thanks, both! I was bracing myself for: "We'll I've already run 10k, done three loads of laundry and prepped a roast" 😅 Mid-week I would suck it up as I know it's not the crack of dawn but there is something about that type of noise.

Short break in the generator noise so they could seemingly drill something (?) but now resumed, along with the shouting. I'm gathering one of them has never done this before based on variations on: "No, no - not the path! And shut the door! Fuck!" that have been coming for now almost three hours.

On the plus side, DD is apparently less bothered by the noise and is currently in the land of nod. Wondering if she'll stay asleep long enough for me to get some fresh air(/silence). DH is here.

I feel you.

I was woken up at 7:30 this morning by my sister texting me some gossip she'd acquired about a mutual friend. It wasn't even that interesting, and was in fact something I'd already told her I suspected, but she got it confirmed.

Why she had to text it that early on a Sunday, I'll never know!

I would be fuming too. However, noise regulations allow it from 8am on a Sunday. We are usually up by then (and sometimes have returned from the gym, yes) but it doesn’t mean we would be thrilled about the noise in the morning or any other time of day on a Sunday.

Your phone is under your control.

Environmental noise is not.

Totally different.

Aren't you cheerful?

I was just trying to sympathise with the OP. Didn't need your snotty reply thanks. :)
