Advice on support resources regarding female friendship

Posted here for traffic.

Over the past year an important female friendship of mine has ended gradually. I’m looking for good books or podcasts that might help me get over/deal with this…or any sage words of wisdom.

I have ADHD and pretty severe Rejection Sensitivity Dysphoria (RSD), so this feels more on par with a bereavement than the loss of a friend.

If you want words of wisdom, you're probably going to have to tell us a bit about it?

It’s complex and fairly outing. I’ve scanned all the friendship threads on here and am hoping someone has perhaps read a really good book about how to grieve for a female friendship.

It is hard did it just fizzle out. Sometimes if theres no closure on it its hard.

I 'lost' my best friend over a year ago and I have adhd, asd and rsd but I just thought back to all the things that had hapened that was bad in the friendship and honestly never think of her. That said my dp broke up with me a few months back and the rejection is so hard and I cry and miss him every single day so I am maybe not the best to give advice. Take it a day at a time x

I started to notice things weren’t the same in March last year. It’s pretty obvious that I was no longer necessary, but it took me until November to get a definitive end (although the warning signs were there long beforehand). Repeated attempts to talk were rebuffed. I hate how consumed I have become by it.

Esther Perel has some good podcast episodes about friendships that you might find helpful.

Think about previous losses, and how they don't hurt so much now. Time is the best healer
