First posters on MN- not to be confused with Original Poster (OP)

Am I the only one who notices how the first person to reply on a thread, normally nails it?

So much so, when browsing, short of time and come across a long opening post, I just go straight to the first reply on the thread, and usually all becomes clear in a few lines.

I take my hat off to MN's posters who are usually the first to reply on threads. Well done guys!

I don't know, I tend to find the first poster after the OP has quite an extreme view and the rest are more reasonable

Here we see an exception to OP's rule.

It’s hit and miss isn’t it! 50/50

Of course, I have also seen those threads where the first 20 or so posts say teh same thing and eventually someone brave enough appears and says the unthinkable, but the better response. A few more people then became brave to support teh last poster. Luckily those threads (echo chambers) aren't too many.
