AIBU: Christmas and unrelenting tiredness?

Is it just me?

The past 10days I've had no energy whatsoever. We did have a virus in the house the week before Christmas - so I figured it was something to do with that. But then I was thinking, I always feel like this at Christmas.

It's like my body is tired in its bones. Everything is a struggle. I have no get up and go. Just a sluggishness I can't shake off.

Is it a general brokeness when you stop working for a while? Or is it because of the food that you wouldn't normally eat and drink (don't feel like I've massively over indulged but we have eaten out more and there's been more chocs)? Or is it because of the pre-Christmas businesses?

Or is it just me? Maybe it is a post-viral type fatigue.

Feel like I could go to bed and sleep for 24hrs and it still wouldn't be enough. Not sure how I'm going to manage going back to work. I feel ill I'm that tired, but I have slept.

Anyone else feel like this over the Christmas and New Year period?

I think it’s a combination of all the things you have listed, plus low vitamin D / so little daylight.

I'm the same OP

Feeling exactly the same today.

I'm guessing it's the lack of light, diet of sugar and fat and lack of exercise, as a pp said. I don't drink alcohol so can't blame that!

I'm very much of the stay at home in your jammies variety. Left home on Thursday for the first time in a week. I'm needing my regular 10pm bedtime again.
