Not really sure where to post for the most traffic when it comes to this kind of thing but 3 weeks ago, DD started coughing.
We saw dr about a week into it who said viral, 2 days later she'd stopped feeding went back to dr who listened to chest and said RSV and sent us to paediatrics ward at local hospital, they agreed and sent us home later that night.
Still coughing so DH took DD back to drs 4 days ago who said it had moved lower and would now need antibiotics.
5 days of amoxicillin prescribed, we are on day 4 and DD's chest is still terrible. Wheezing, you can feel it almost rattling when you hold her, she's been lethargic but still her smiley self.
Do I hold out for another day of antibiotics or call 111 for advice? I'm sick of hearing her struggle, it's really upsetting and I'm scared she's going to end up with something more serious if I leave it.
She's also really bunged up, we are doing humidifier at night, sitting in bathroom with steamy shower on, calpol, Vicks, antibiotics etc.
What do I do? 😞
