Cooked 26th

Wrapped in foil
In the fridge

It's the 29th today

So 3-4 days later.

Is that ok?

How does it smell and look?

I think I would but today would be the last day.

Lastqueenofscotland2 · 29/12/2023 08:15

Oh I’m a minger with stuff like this and I’m not sure I would.

chompargh · 29/12/2023 08:16

Can you see any worms?

BuffaloCauliflower · 29/12/2023 08:17

Yeh it’ll be fine

MyDogsPaws · 29/12/2023 08:18

I generally say 3 days for most cooked stuff in the fridge so I’d probably eat it if it looked okay. It would definitely be dog food after today though!

HunterHearstHelmsley · 29/12/2023 08:18

Today should be fine! It'll be fairly obvious if it's off though

BCBird · 29/12/2023 08:20

Yes

Well that's put me off fish.

WYorkshireRose · 29/12/2023 08:26

If it was meat I would, but fish definitely not.

PauliesWalnuts · 29/12/2023 08:33

Hmm I don’t think I would. I worked in a fishmongers for three years as a student. Was it fresh or frozen when you cooked it? I.e. did you buy it on 24th and then cook on 26th, or did you get it out of the freezer on 26th.

KrisAkabusi · 29/12/2023 08:36

Smell it. It should be fine.

It's been cooked. If there were any worms, eating it now or on Boxing Day won't make any difference. Salmon don't usually have worms anyway.

Papillon23 · 29/12/2023 08:36

I think I would: you cooked it (and therefore killed off anything already in it) on 26th, and it's been stored cold since then.

Itsholly · 29/12/2023 08:52

It was bought in the fresh section but as a defrosted item with a date of 26 December

Bought on 24 and cooked on 26th

The clock resets when you cook it so when you bought it/date on it doesn't matter now as long as it wasn't off then. I reckon 3 days should be fine but would freeze any leftovers today. Doesn't matter that it was previously frozen raw now that you've cooked it.

chompargh · 29/12/2023 08:57

I wouldn't risk it personally. Fish can make you quite ill if it's off.

Silverbirchtwo · 29/12/2023 08:58

I would think it would be fine, does it pass the sniff test? If it has gone off which I would think is very unlikely you would know! I would worry about seafood (maybe), but not cooked fish kept in the fridge.

Humbugg · 29/12/2023 09:05

Today I would. Tomorrow I wouldn’t

NamelessNancy · 29/12/2023 09:06

Here you go OP. USDA reckon 3-4 days is fine

I'm eating it - thanks
