AIBU to ask DH if he has the reciept for my gifts?

I asked him for something 'xyz related' and instead of what I had in mind (my fault really for not being more specific!) he got me FOUR Tshirts Xyz related and a teddy of Xyz.

2 of the Tshirts are from online so will probably keep them but 2 are from HMV and £25 each and Teddy was from HMV too and £25 also.
We saw the teddy in another shop before Xmas reduced to £12 and he asked if I wanted it and I said no. (I used to have a few teddies but they're all in storage because I just lost the love for them)

I should also add I've lost a lot of weight and he's gotten me Men's XL Tshirts. I'm a S/M.

I feel bad because he did try but the Tshirts are way too big and I'd rather take the £75 and get what I actually wanted as I'll only wear the Tshirts to bed really.

I don't want to hurt his feelings but 75 quid is a lot of money really isn't it?

Well, the t shirts are too big so you'll need to change them for another size... which they obviously won't have in stock when you go to the shop alone...

YANBU to want gifts you can use rather than waste but I think it comes down to how you word it.

Rather than "Can I have the receipt to return these?" Go with "Do you have the receipt so I can go and exchange the t-shirts for the right size as these are far too big, even to be oversize, and I'll never wear them." Then when you go to do the exchange get credit/refund/alternative items and if your OH asks (or you can tell him proactively) just say "Oh I went to exchange the t-shirts but they didn't have my size/I saw XYZ instead so since I still have those other t shirts I exchanged them for those instead"

HMV doesn't have the thing I want but he always pays cash so I could get the money back. I'm trying to be as tactful as possible.

Even I I can't get what I originally wanted, £75 in super drug would get me a lot of nice smelliest and fancy shampoos and stuff I never treat myself to.

I think I'll mention it to him tonight. I don't think he would be hurt but I know he did listen this year and thought he did good 😂

This - it's simple genius!
