I’m very aware the situation could be a lot worse but my neighbour is driving me mad!
For context: we live in an estate where all the gardens back onto each other, with a pathway for getting to and from the street. Low fences as the gardens are quite small. Personally I love it as it has a really friendly, community vibe. We get on really well with all the other neighbours; people stop to chat, people help each other out etc.
I have lived next door to my current neighbour for just over a year now. She rents the house and initially everything seemed fine. As time has gone on, she seems to care less and less about the state of the house and being considerate to people around her. She plays loud music which we can hear through the walls and has parties on weeknights. Also plays loud music very early in the morning. She leaves cigarette butts and rubbish out the front of the house which then gets blown up the street outside our house. Cars parked inconsiderately on a restricted byway which then blocks other people in. I could go on.
The thing that I can’t stand the most is she lets her dog wee and poo all over her garden to the point where the paving has gone green and you can smell it when you walk past. It makes me physically gag. I feel sorry for the dog and also for the family on the other side who have small children. I asked her to clean it up as in the summer I could smell it in my house, this lasted about 2 weeks then it went back to being a cesspit again.
This afternoon I came back from a lovely Christmas and stepped in dog mess that was left on the path. It’s made my blood boil!! AIBU to contact the landlord at this point? I have landlord’s details; I feel bad for grassing on her but she hasn’t listened to me or any of the other neighbours that have also complained.
