So, Boxing day lunch had, wine consumed, (2 glasses) and enjoying The Glen Miller Story on TV. AIBU to think you don't see a modern love story like this 1940's one....? She (Helen) breaks off her 2 year engagement to Eddie and then persuades him to drive her to Denver Station where she can catch the 23.30 train that night for a 3 day journey to New York where upon immediate arrival at 18.00, will taxi to City Hall to marry Glen at 19.00 then go see a show at 20.00 that he's performing with, followed by attending a party thrown by his friends til gone 03.00..... 🤯

Bet she wears heels 👠 too and can make a chicken last 3 days.... 🍗 😂😂😂.... Love Helen Miller 👏🏼🥰 you got this 💪🏼👏🏼

What the movie does not tell you is that Helen Miller was actually a really tough cookie who jealously guarded his legacy after he died.

Not seen that in years. I am watching The Sound of Music which was just as current/old fashioned when I first saw it approx 45 years ago.

By the way even the nuns are wearing heels in this film.

No doubt, she's a forceful, intelligent character indeed; sassy too and Glenn clearly adored her if the autobiographical element is accurate. The movie is quickly becoming a favourite!! brilliant Jimmy Stewart portrayal I'd completely forgotten about.
