I'll be staying at parents for a few nights.
Often back to mine by the evening of the 27th.
I don't mind other than the odd argument and not being able to watch as much TV ha.

Home alone! It’s ok.

Doggymummar · 23/12/2023 18:02

I've had plenty of single Christmas home alone, with gay friends who started the day single then grinder hooked them up in the evening, at my parents. Now I prefer at home with my oh and the curtains drawn.

OldTinHat · 23/12/2023 18:03

Also home alone! But I have Alexa for company and I'm sure DSis and DC will send me photos of their fabulous days as per...!

Same except at my friends' house (I'm looking after their dog). It's my first christmas overseas and I'm looking forward to it, should be fun I think.

Marwoodsbigbreak · 23/12/2023 18:05

Home with adult DC. Having a great time.

Butchyrestingface · 23/12/2023 18:07

Home alone with the pets. I was invited to rellies but I'm exhausted at the moment and can't be bothered pretending.

Looking forward to a day in front of Netflix watching and eating crap. May watch Home Alone for the first time ever in honour of the occasion. Xmas Grin

TheTecknician · 23/12/2023 22:34

I'll be at home. Zero stress.

a1234567 · 23/12/2023 22:36

Me too. Home alone. Looking forward to shutting out the world and doing my own thing.

WrigglyDonCat · 23/12/2023 22:41

Since wife died I'm home on my own. Visit family tomorrow, home on Christmas Day. Bliss - I love it, do what I want, when I want, with only the cats to judge or whinge (and whinge they will if they perceive that their food isn't on time - which is a certainty)

Less than helpful for people who will be alone & would much rather be with an oh (not me).

I’m having a lazy day with the cats & a lot of nice food - probably walk round to church in the morning & watch something in the afternoon.

PostItInABook · 23/12/2023 22:49

Home alone. Not that bothered although the tilty head, sad pitying face people give when they ask and I tell them that is really annoying 🙄.

Isthisblocked · 23/12/2023 22:50

Home alone too….looking forward to the relaxation and chance just to suit myself….nice food, free choice of reading or tv, a bit of pampering….maybe a long bath with book and glass of something nice….. maybe even a bit of a walk for fresh air BUT only if I feel like it…. My Christmas present to myself every year, when I spend it alone is to do whatever I want. I have had wonderful Christmases, either hosting or travelling and solitude at Christmas is also to be enjoyed. I have liked all of the different Christmases I have spent.

ilovesooty · 23/12/2023 22:53

I'm invited out tomorrow evening and on boxing day but I'll be at home with the cats on Christmas day itself. I'm quite happy with that though I've booked a curry for lunch at a local restaurant so I don't have to bother to cook.

ZeroFucksGivenToday · 23/12/2023 22:57

Have my dd Xmas eve this year, we're off to dinner at a friends and then I'll drop her at her dads around 3.

home to the cats, log burner on, a fab book prepped on my kindle and some nice nibble for the afternoon/evening.

GinBooksChocs · 23/12/2023 23:05

I'm on call for work. Have some nice snacks and food in. Seeing family after for a couple of days.

I'm happy with the situation and looking forward to hunkering down. I like the run up to the day but increasingly not fussed on the day itself.

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 24/12/2023 00:36

I was meant to be on holiday with a friend but I caught Covid, was unwell with it, and couldn’t go.

Home alone at the moment.

ChocolateCinderToffee · 24/12/2023 00:39

Home alone with cat. Thinking of going away next year though, as bored.

I'm not bored but I can't stand all the fuss and hype before or during Christmas. I'd have gone away but the cattery is closed.

justjuggling · 24/12/2023 00:43

I’ll be home with my teenage DC and my parents + sister are coming for lunch on Christmas Day. 🙂

Catsmere · 24/12/2023 00:47

I don't bother about Christmas, haven't for many years. I'll be alone with my cats for once. I'm my mother's carer and she'll be in rehab for a week or so after pneumonia. It is, frankly, a bit of a holiday for me.

Janetinthebath · 24/12/2023 00:49

At mum’s and very happy to be.

Aquarius1234 · 24/12/2023 21:45

How's Christmas eve single people??
I'm a bit fed up. Bored..

Mine was nice. I had Phoebe on my lap while I watched Time Team dvds and finished knitting the second sleeve.

Beaverbridge · 24/12/2023 22:13

Home alone sounds bliss. I'm trapped at relations, swear every year I'm not going and here I am again!. Can't wait to get back to my own gaff.

EmpressaurusOfCats · 24/12/2023 23:28

I’m just back from Mass, which was very nostalgic - we always went to midnight Mass when I was a kid - & soon going to bed with the cats.
