Apple, Spotify and Amazon I think are the main ones - not sure on price differences or ease of use.

What service d o you use? Do you pay and if so what is the monthly cost?

I'm fed up of adverts on Spotify so it's time to invest in a proper subscription service.

Apple Music as I can talk to Siri while driving. £10.99
Amazon music limited service is free with prime (£8.99 prime subscription). No adverts but some songs are not available.
Spotify has gone up to £9.99 now I think. Used to be 6.99 and it was a bargain

Apple and I pay nothing as it's free with my phone contract (EE).

Amazon. With an annual Prime subscription I pay £8.99 a month for one user at a time. It’s got a good range but as I usually use voice activation to play music it often tries to fob me off with live versions, which enrages me

Amazon Prime (£80/yr or whatever it is now)
Spotify family account - £17/mo
Sonos radio.

YouTube is worth a look. I don't like their interface as much as Spotify, and it is a bit more expensive, however you also get the benefit of of watching YouTube with no adverts should that be of interest.

Spotify premium which we’ve got hooked up to all the devices in the house and shared on 2 phones (they haven’t closed this loophole yet but I’m expecting them to!) they’ve just launched audiobooks included in premium which means I’ve suspended my audible account and so far there’s nothing I’ve wanted to listen to that I can’t find.

Oppositioblue · 23/12/2023 09:53

DH currently has apple free as he bought AirPods. When that runs out we will update Spotify to premium for 2 people which I think is £12.99 a month. DS currently has a single use which is &10.99 a month for Spotify.

Spotify Premium, £17.99 for a family account.

You can ask Siri to play things while driving and she'll also use Spotify, so that needn't be a factor in your decision.

You are paying though, it’s baked into your contract.

I have the Spotify family package, which is £16.99 pm, I think. Good value for our family as we use all 5 of the profiles and are big music-lovers.

I don't know about the other ones, but I like that Spotify has a download able app on my smart TV so I can play my music loud through the TV when I'm doing my cleaning or at a normal volume if I'm enjoying a glass of wine and candles!

5.99 Spotify, as I’ve got a student account.
