I think Chris Marshall married one of the American girls and goes and lives in the States.
Emma Thompson marriage turns cold. Alan Rickman remains faithful but she goes on to have numerous affairs.
The PM and Natalie marry and fill no 10 with nappies.
Keira Knightly separates from her husband and realises she's in love with his BF. She finds him and he's happily married.
Colin Firth ends up marrying her sister.

I think Richard Curtis went on to make a fortune and some more crap films and then finally in 2023 gave interviews where he admits to the many things about Love Actually that are inappropriate and how it would not be made today.

It's certainly a film that divides opinions! But still very well loved and watched every year.

I think Laura Linneys brother sadly passes and after a time of grief she eventually starts to live - travels, finds love etc.

SaltyGod · 23/12/2023 08:54

I think Emma T’s marriage rumbles on, he is faithful and sorry but it is never the same again.

Billy the Rock star walks away from fame and lives happily ever after with Rab C Nesbit!

Have you seen the Red Nose Day special from 2017? That answers some of these questions! The storyline with Colin Firth is nice.

Is it possible to get a version of LA without the porn storyline in? I'd love to watch it with dd (12) but I don't think she'd like that element!

But you think she would like the stalking , infidelity and fat shaming storyline?

mrsnjw · 23/12/2023 09:17

My DD watched it for the first time this year. She is fourteen. She was commenting on many flaws in the film. I think maybe talking to teens about fat shaming etc. teaches them that times have changed and things that were seen as normal then is not tolerated now. Isn't that why we teach history? To not repeat previous mistakes? 🤔

I'm not a huge fan of Love Actually, only seen it twice. I don't remember stalking and fat shaming?

I think they all raise talking points- and would be fine her seeing them. But I don't want to spend Christmas eve talking about porn.

When ET’a character says to husband ‘be careful with that one’ - how do you interpret?

mrsnjw · 23/12/2023 21:50

Had he had affairs before?

I watched it in the cinema at 13, the porn bits got a giggle, but I went with friends not my mum, in fairness.
