Hopefully this doesn't get deleted because it is a TAAT but more like a thread inspired by another thread where the poster said we in the uk don't treat veg like the stars that they can be in a dish.

I know there are some wonderful ways of preparing veg and I want to hear your ideas please!

My contributions are:

Miso paste, garlic and ginger made into a runny paste with soy sauce - coat broccoli in that and roast. Drizzle with sesame oil and sesame seeds, and maybe the tiniest bit of honey too.

and,

Delia Smith's recipe for braised red cabbage

What's yours?

Root veg - bake don't boil.

Oooh! I bought some miso after a friend raved about it in the summer. It's been sat in the cupboard ever since. Thank you so much for your recipe, I'll definitely give that a whirl.

Apologies that I have no recipes in return. Apart from saying that sprouts should be put on to boil 24hrs before serving - mushy sprouts = Christmas!

@OldTinHat I love miso, use it in anything savoury that it will melt into!

I'm sure I bought some craisins one year to add to some veg- no idea what now of course!

Ooh another one: there are endless ways of doing coleslaw, it doesn't always have to be in mayo type dressing. I've done it in various different vinegars with seasoning, lemon juice, sometimes I add something like maple syrup.

Drive to M&S. Purchase their red cabbage. Microwave. Eat and repeat ❤️
