To think this shouldn’t happen after 16 months Samsung

Long story short I have a Samsung eco bubble washing machine bought August 22
door seal broke a few nights ago a metal ring came out and it’s all loose
sansung are refusing to cover it under the 5 year warranty that I stretched my budget for
I think they should I have never previously had this happen with any other machine. Washing over twenty years
Aibu to think this is not my fault

the door isn’t supposed to function if it’s not closed properly
but there is a regular sock in the seal which was the same in my previous ecobubble

What reason are they given for not covering it? I've a Samsung machine too but the extended warranty was free thankfully (as long as I registered it immediately), I'd fully expect them to repair it ASAP. There must be some consumer rights to help you.

YANBU it's becoming worse and worse and I'm sick of it. I work hard for my money and resent handing it over for shoddy goods.

My New Year Resolution for next year is to buy a file, keep every single receipt I have, and return everything that doesn't last as long as it should. I've had socks that got holes in them 6 weeks after purchase FFS. I'm not having it anymore. I might not succeed in getting a refund or a replacement, but i'm damn well gonna try harder.

i have that same extended warranty. I have four and a half years left on the warranty
they have said that it must have been used incorrectly for that to happen so not covered by their warranty
i I have found lots of similar complaints online def a known issue
I’m absolutely raging
have a sick child and no washing machine for xmas thanks for replying

My Samsung ecobubble has broken down twice in the last couple of years but thankfully they weren't awkward about repairing it under the warranty. It was the same issue both times, a fault in the electronic control panel. As soon as it breaks down again once the warranty is up I'm replacing it with another make.

Our Bosch washing machine only lasted 20 months then the bearings went. They mended it, but it's chronically unbalanced, so we don't expect it to last another 20 month tbh. Poorly made.

Just to update
After much arguing Samsung paid for the Repair

Glad they paid.

I hate my eco bubble. Socks get stuck in the rubber bit of the door and come out sodden.
Never had that in my 40 odd yrs of owning a washing machine.

Quick wash settings are so stringent, eg, 30 degree wash 30 mins 40 degree wash 40 mins and ooh top spin 800.

Luckily mine is second hand, crappy thing.

the thing with the socks is so annoying. Seriously how they pass quality control I’ll never know

My Bosch washing machine had exactly the same problem, infact it never sounded right from.tge day I bought it. I eventually called a repair engineer out, who agreed bearings had gone and they replaced them, no quibbles, never tested the machine once they'd done the repair and it sounds exactly the same as before.
First and it'll be the last Bosch machine I've had.
