To give the festive season a miss?

I’m really not sure I can get through the festive season. I live with (nasty) parents, a cat and a boyfriend but if I leave at least the cat provided for until the parents provide for her would it be acceptable? Just to give full information I’ve called Samaritans and papyrus before.

I'm sorry you are feeling this way. This is a difficult time for many people and I am so sorry you are struggling. Unfortunately not everyone gets parents who are supportive and loving. I am sure you have friends and other people in your life who care about you, please speak to someone before doing anything.

@CeciledeVolangesdeNouveau Cecile, what's happened to tip you over to feeling this way? I know you have a (very) difficult relationship with family, but it must have taken something more to make you think of leaving Velvet - even if temporarily - what has happened to upset you so much?

This is a horrific time of year. Trust me I am speaking to Velvet a lot but she can’t quite quite patch the holes left by my mother. It’s that my mother has had a (probably inconsequential, definitely so to me, wound and she’s taking it out on all of us). Sorry brackets in the wrong place. I hate Christmas anyway and I barely know how to protect myself let alone my little cat and my decade-younger BF. I just fully don’t know at all.

@CeciledeVolangesdeNouveau Oh Cecile, I know you're finding it hard! Can you hang on a bit longer with your lovely Velvet and your lovely (toy boy!) BF ........ things will get better given time, sometimes we just have to concentrate on the good things. Not very helpful advice, I know! and sending you a big hug x
