To ask for your copper coil pregnancy stories!

Obviously I know the only way to know is to do a test but as I'm not able to do that until tomorrow I'd like to hear if anyone got pregnant using the copper coil?

I had one inserted during a C-section 6.5 months ago when I gave birth to my second baby. Had unprotected sex once about a month ago and in recent days I've been vomiting, feeling sick, migraines (only ever get these in pregnancy), mouth ulcers (again only ever in pregnancy) and then today felt really bloated. I'm still breastfeeding and I've always been able to feel the coil strings very easily as they rub the inside when I walk 😥

I think I've possibly conceived with mine in two or three times in the past decade and then had a very early loss. As in, at 5 or 6 weeks max.

The reason I've thought that is because my sense of smell goes absolutely crazily strong during pregnancy. I once spent a holiday in Morocco complaining about the strength of the spice smells everywhere (and I love spicy food.) dp couldn't understand what I was going on about. It was only on the way home on the plane when I started to bleed that I thought ohhh.

It's not fun. Once I had a real hormonal surge to accompany the bleed and nearly got the thing removed at that point.

I did, twice, one is now 33 and the other one is 31, after that I changed my contraception. With the first the coil came out on its own when I was about 4 months along, second one it was removed by the gp . Both babies were fine.

I'm afraid I'm the result of a copper coil failure. But I'm mid thirties and thriving, if that helps 😅 No contraception is fool-proof, but hopefully you get the result you're after with your test.

He is 26 in January. The coil was delivered in my placenta.
