Private school choices - Claremont Fan

Hello All

I’m posting for traffic. Has anyone got any advice at all about the Claremont Fan school in Esher? We’ve just moved and they’ve offered a place with a scholarship. But I’m not sure. We’ve already so got a place at St Teresa’s Effingham. So that’s an option too but no scholarship. Please pass on any advice you might have.

Thanks so much.

Depends on your circumstances do you need the scholarship to attend? Or can you go elsewhere without a scholarship

Thanks so much for replying. Can attend without. But it’s really about personal experience. Have you used these schools?

It’s a nice school with a nurturing environment as far as I’m aware.

It’s not an ‘aspirational’ school for the area.

I work at a high achieving prep in the area(ish) and it’s where the boys who are less academic go but that’s a good thing I think - less pressure academically but still good, and a more pleasant day to day school life.

Sorry - I mean Claremont. We don’t send to Effingham.

OP, if you don't get an answer from anyone that knows the school, might be worth posting on the Education section.

I'm not sure which age group you're looking at, but if it's 7+, do they have a feel for where they'd be happier? If you're still unsure and school is nearby, ask if you can have a further visit.

I agree with this.

essentially, it’s about getting a good fit for your child. Visit Both schools, think about your child abilities and temperament etc . Finally
