Handle of airfryer snapped off

Am so sad! Was shaking airfryer basket tonight and the handle snapped off. It is only a single basket airfryer and I got it in lidl I guess about 8 months ago. Do you think I could superglue it on. I can still use the airfryer just have to try and open it without the handle which is awkward .

Do you know who the manufacturer is? They might have spare parts.

EmpressaurusOfCats · 14/12/2023 23:36

Have a look on eBay. I found someone selling a broken air fryer the same model as mine for parts for £15 - he confirmed the basket was ok so I bought it & swopped them. All good.

They are pretty cheap just buy another one

That's a good plan thanks

I think it is worth contacting the manufacturer and saying what has happened. They might refund you or give you a new one as a goodwill gesture. Unfortunately, after 6 months the onus is on the buyer to prove something was faulty (rather than the manufacturer to disprove it which is the case before 6 months). I would still say its worth reaching out and seeing what they say though.

I bought one of these the other day in the black Friday deal and it was only £17. Not too surprised that the handle fell off for that price thought

70-80 for an airfryer in Lidl? You were robbed!

Firestorms · 29/11/2024 10:12

You could try taking it back to LIDL if you have the receipt.
Asda have air fryers for £20, there are plenty of cheap ones around if you can’t return the broken one.

Martin Lewis is good on consumer rights.

basically, you have a strong argument that a £70 air fryer should last longer than 7 months and would be in a good position to insist on a repair, or if that’s not possible, a replacement.

Dunno about Lidl, but Aldi were really good when we had something break too soon.

Ring the customer care line and see how they can help.

Since the OP started this thread in December 2023 I expect she’s sorted it out by now.
