Young adult with SEN due to disability. No formal educational provision provided for two years aside from a few months of activity based stuff due to availability of learning support assistant.

Has an statement of SN (EHCP) that education authority have a legal duty to provide the provision in.

According to assessments done with no preparation and after two years out of learning, dropped two levels in Maths and English (e.g from Level 3 to Level 1).

This has meant potential education placement has said they don’t meet the required minimum academic entry level for admission. They were at the required level 3 years ago which was documented. So again without education provision for this year as well (3rd year) as no other placement can be found. Currently taken 4 months and counting to even get home tuition in place as apparently no home tutors available either.

Apparently there is little to be done about this and it’s not the education authority’s fault.

AIBU to think this is their sodding fault?!

So they failed to educate your young adult child due to lack of available services, then after 2 years of that decided the child is no longer eligible for education due to not being at the required standard? What a joke, you must feel pulling your hair out frustrated.
