To be mildly annoyed with my DH

I don't talk to my sister We just don't get along and last time I saw her she called me a thief in my own home.

So she sent a Christmas card, and I told my DH that I'll just bin it. He then went on that it was a shame for the children, that they have the right to know her, etc.

My 13yo has her number and she can reach out to her if she wants to. I don't see the point with the 3yo.

My DH could see that I was starting to get upset and that maybe I would appreciate never been called a thief or not having to listen to all the intimate of her relationship with my secondary school bully (who destroyed my self esteem for many years) rather than silly cards. So he said he understood and that was the end of it.

However I think he should accept that I simply don't want her in my life at all rather than feeling judged for my decisions.

You can't control what he thinks, but you can control what you do.

If you have decided you will no longer have your sister in your life, that's it. Conversation over. It has nothing to do with him and he doesn't have to like it.

I don’t know if he’s judging you or just trying to solve something that hurts you. Maybe if he knew more of the stories he’d understand better.

He now gets it . He used to be of the idea that she's family and always be. I don't buy any of that, and think it's a way to let toxic things happen.
