It’ll be absolutely fine, enjoy!

quitefranklyabsurd · 03/12/2023 20:10

It will be delicious!

FedUpofPeepShow · 03/12/2023 20:11

I drank some from an opened bottle from last Xmas, that's been in my cabinet ever since. I'm not dead yet it was fine (despite saying it should be refrigerated and drunk in a month 😱🤣)

lesdeluges · 03/12/2023 20:12

The alcohol will keep it going. They have to by law put a sell by date on them, but that means nothing where alcohol is concerned. I opened a few cans of Carlsberg last weekend, out of date since March 23, no one left anything behind, and no reports of death or serious injury were reported either.

VerticalSausages · 03/12/2023 20:13

Do you really have to ask????

HunterHearstHelmsley · 03/12/2023 20:13

YABU as I can no longer drink Baileys, it gives me a rash. So.... Pour it down the sink. Thank you kindly.

Wellingtonwombles · 03/12/2023 20:14

@FedUpofPeepShow It should be kept in the fridge? Well you learnt something new everyday

It will be fine.

I also keep bottles (Ballycastle not baileys) open for months in the cupboard.

Indeed! I've got to 47 without refrigerating any Baileys so I reckon it's ok without 🥴

‘Best before’ is a quality issue.

‘Use by’ is a safety issue.

Wellingtonwombles · 03/12/2023 20:22

Opened and not only is it ok, it's bloody lovely. Teen is forcing me to watch last night's I'm a celeb with her so have poured myself a large one. Merry Christmas

To be safe I'd finish it tonight

Penelopepisspot · 03/12/2023 20:28

My ex-boyfriend once knocked over my newly opened litre bottle of Baileys so that the entire thing ran down between the floorboards next to my bed. As well as dealing with the sad loss of the Baileys I had to endure the stench of sour milk for weeks. Prior to that I had no idea that Baileys went off.

I had a bottle that was in date but lumpy once 🤢

If it's not lumpy then it's fine imo.

BarbaraofSeville · 03/12/2023 20:50

I had some that was open in the fridge and about 5 years out of date by the time I'd finished it. It was absolutely fine.

A few months out of date is nothing.

I don't understand this. It can't be a true story. Who can keep Bailey's 5 years. I need a couple of bottles just for December...

AlmostAJillSandwich · 03/12/2023 20:56

I bought one last Christmas that went out of Date in January, but it was the apple pie flavour one and no more was going to be made. I only finished it in September, never refridgerated. I'm very tempted to try the espresso creme one thats the new limited edition flavour!

Because we were drinking the gin and cava instead.....

Pascha · 03/12/2023 21:08

Just to put all your minds at ease, Baileys can be stored anywhere between 0 and 25°c and last for 24 months from date of bottling, opened or unopened.

So if you like it cold stick it in the fridge, if you are a heathen don't care about temperature then leave it on the shelf like the uncivilised brute you appear to be. 😎

Pascha · 03/12/2023 21:09

And yes if it isn't lumpy its fine.

Thepeopleversuswork · 03/12/2023 21:10

I've drunk bottles of wine which have been open for months. It'll be fine.

wavingfuriously · 03/12/2023 21:10

😬

ShakespeareInTurmoil · 03/12/2023 21:18

Trust me, all the pubs I worked in as a student had old dusty bottles of the stuff years out of date, open, and only used around Christmas! Lasts yonks you’ll be fine.
