Outdoor Flashing Xmas Lights

slightly lighthearted

If you love all the Xmas lights and decorations- then great! I have my own inside. But you can't see your big fuck off flashing lights as they are outside your house, and you are inside it. In fact, your flashing lights are only seen by me and a few other neighbours, mainly in my living room and bedroom. I don't understand!!!! Why???

Obviously I can't say anything as that would make me look completely miserable, but don't people think?? Even lights permanently on would be preferable to the flashing!!!

AIBU to not want flashing lights pointed at my house?

I have photosensitive epilepsy and the flashing ones cause me a right headache. I end up having to plan my route home to avoid them. I LOVE lights I just wish they wouldn't flash at a seizure inducing speed!!

@GramCracker, I do ‘see a doctor’ for my neurological condition. Several doctors, in fact. I take three types of medication for my condition but am still triggered by triggers (as is the nature of triggers). I cannot take more medication, as the side effects become more debilitating than the condition. I also cannot take different medications. Therefore, I have to avoid the triggers where possible, flashing Christmas lights on random buildings can make that quite difficult to do.

Can I just ask everyone a huge favour?

Those of you who are planning to put Christmas lights outside of your house, please can you avoid anything red or blue and flashing?

Every time I drive past, I think it's the Police and have a mild panic attack.

I have to remove my foot from the accelerator, apply the brakes, put my seat belt on, throw my phone on the floor, hide my bottle of wine, swallow my joint, and shove my gun under the seat. It's extra drama I don't need!

I really appreciate your cooperation and understanding. Grin
