To ask if your teen boy went through a reclusive stage

DS is 15.5 & seems to be going through a reclusive phase! He games online with mates but just likes being at home! Doesn’t really do much outside of school! He’s got delayed puberty so is late to this stage I think - lots of his mates went through it earlier it seem- he’s 2 years behind according to the bone scan of his hand etc. So not surprising!

I do worry but maybe I should also be happy that he’s not out roaming the streets!!

Definitely be happy he is not roaming the streets. At that age mine had been through a feral stage and was now just ramping up the self harming.

Now, age 21, he is fairly reclusive and pretty much nocturnal. He does work, two long shifts per week, but other than that he rarely goes out and does spend a lot of time gaming.

Gaming is social, it's just a different social to what I was used to. I would prefer it if he had more IRL friends, but friendships were always a problem so I am not overly worried at the moment.
