Not an AIBU but traffic etc.

We've got a wild mouse living under the floor in our house. Discovered about a month ago when the thing scurried across the floor.

We immediately put some traps down. No luck.

For three weeks we've had pest control in, putting poison down, laying traps. He is coming back today and I've just found fresh mouse droppings so the little fucker is still alive.

My kitchen is a mess because nothing can be in the cupboards. I'm knackered with constantly vacuuming and cleaning up. We know it's getting out and about and I'm actually full of RAGE about it this morning.

I've got two kids. I don't want a fucking mouse. If pest control can't get rid of it, what else can I do?! This is really affecting me now.

Great result, sometimes the only answer is escalation.

Great result
At the end of the day your children safety and your mental health are more important than a mouse and debate about the humanity of various traps.

Glad you're rid of your little pest. Ultimately you do have to kill them or they do just come back so I'm glad you finally caught it. I don't think it's any worse than being caught in a snap trap & not dying instantly (can happen) or being chased and played with by a cat before being killed. It was a last resort & had to be done. I agree with you re pest control methods! They seem to be wise to most bait now.

Can’t blame you for resorting to sticky trap. I would. Have had mice issues over the years and cupboards full of mouse poo and urine is no fun.
