To think that this could be a blood clot without heat or redness?

So I have pain all in the ball of my foot, when I put my foot to the ground and when walking. If I pull back my second toe the pain is really bad. But it doesn’t hurt when sitting. The odd pain around my ankle and the same leg, but mainly concentrated in this area. AIBU to think it could
be a blood clot? I’ve no heat or redness in the area, but I read that’s not always the case. Here trying to get ready for work in the morning (up at 5am) and keep worrying about it! Never had it before.

Sounds very unlikely to me. Possibly plantar fascitis?

Celticliving · 26/11/2023 23:27

I can see why you would worry but I think it's more likely to be a strain/bruise. Toes and feet can be really painful even with the slightest bump. I would keep an eye on it and get it seen in a few days if the pain hasn't subsided.

Sounds like plantar fasciitis to me

Lissa5 · 26/11/2023 23:30

I did think plantar fasciitis but looked it up and location is different to mine. Mine is ball of foot, that’s further away.

How strange that you posted this tonight. DS has exactly the same pain in his foot at the moment. If it wasn’t for the 5am wake up for work I’d think he’d posted here!
Sorry, no advice - I’ve been googling all evening and am going to send him to the docs tomorrow if he‘a still hobbling.

V unlikely to be a clot

But weird strains are v common in feet. Try and stay off it for a bit and see the doc if it doesn’t improve.

Or if you have the cash go and see a chiropodist direct.

What makes you think blood clot rather than a run-of-the-mill foot injury - do you have a family history or in an at risk category,?

wherethewestwindblows · 26/11/2023 23:33

Nothing that you've described would be a red flag for a clot for me.

Lissa5 · 26/11/2023 23:34

@Singleandproud mainly because of some pain in my leg with it.

@Singleandproud and also because I haven’t done anything to injure it!

Probably sesamoiditis, blood clot very unlikely. And if you have foot pain it can definitely give you referred pain in the leg...

Try icing it?

DianaTiana · 26/11/2023 23:40

Morton's neuroma?

As long as it's vanilla.

You should be asking your GP not Mumsnet
