Neighbours guinea pig outside in 4 degrees celsius

My NDN have recently acquired a guinea pig which is currently residing in a hutch, which has been plonked straight onto their lawn. It’s 4 Celsius right now where we live and surely this is too cold for guinea pigs to be outside straight in the ground like that, especially overnight when it’ll be even colder. We don’t really talk to these particular neighbours just because we rarely see each other and I don’t want to fall out with them especially as we are semi detached with them.

Do I keep my beak out?

YABU - keep your beak out
YANBU - you need to say/do something

Update - hutch has disappeared from the garden when I looked on Monday morning so it must be in their house or the garage (which isn’t used for a car btw) also DH had a good old snout the night before and he seemed confident it was a rabbit not a guinea pig!

Good news it's not in the garden. Bad news that it's a rabbit which shouldn't be kept in a hutch and on its own. They don't make good pets for children either.

So I'm hoping it's been freed to roam around the house - warmth and freedom and company. Well, I'm hoping!

Glad it's inside. I think rabbits are ok to be kept on their own. Hope it's ok!

Hopefully the rabbit is in the house yes. A rabbit should have rabbit company but I know lots of people keep a single House Rabbit if it has the company of its humans .
They can be very destructive though .

Hutches are not enough for a rabbit , the Victorians started this to keep meat rabbits in. And unfortunately it has stuck as the common way of keeping them.

They are complex animals , easily as much as a cat .
We have two cats who are easier in a lot of ways than the guinea-pigs were .
Though I say to my DH "the guinea-pigs didn't do that" when he cats have done something .
His answer is the guinea-pigs never did anything !!.
Sacrilege .

Please say or do something or report to RSPCA. Poor little piggies. Has it got plenty of hay etc to keep warm?
