To ask about losing baby weight in 40s?

I had my first dc as a teen and lost the weight almost immediately.
I have always been naturally slim 6/8 and quite petite, however when I had my dc in my early 30s I was surprised at how much weight I gained and how difficult it was to lose, eventually I lost the baby weight though it wasn't easy and have found it harder to maintain my weight since having my 2nd child also probably due to my age in general.
We have been considering a 3rd but I am 40 now and do watch my weight more than I always had to, is losing baby weight in your 40s especially hard or even possible.
I know it sounds trivial in the scheme of things but I am just weighing everything up and it is important to me if I will be able to get my body back again.
I know nobody can say for sure as we're all different but I'm interested in others experiences.

I managed to lose the baby weight at 40ish with intermittent fasting/time restricted eating, and a keto diet. I can not be bothered to exercise. Once you get over the carb cravings I find it works really well.

Thank you, that's what I do now but it gets harder with age.

Do you know why you gained so much weight with your second?

No, why?

No, why?

I wasn't being facetious. I thought that if you had considered why you put on so much weight it might be a good starting point when thinking about how another pg might impact your body.
Don't worry, I'll butt out.

It fell off me both times although in part because of not having a chance to eat much!

I guess, which do you want more? The baby or the body? If it's honestly the body then maybe you don't actually want the baby after all? I can't imagine a situation when having a baby hinges on how you look after?
