I was referred for surgery in January. Didn’t get an appt till July , I was told I’d get a pre op appt- which I did quite quickly for 2 weeks later I was notified by phone, told they don’t send letters or reminders.
It was at a hospital quite some distance away and done by a private company. So I went only to be told I didn’t have an appt that it was actually a week later? So a week later I returned and same again??? so 2 wasted trips.
Called the clinic and it was rebooked a third time and was actually done and lots of tests done and I was told I’d have a call from a nurse the following week to discuss bloods and the pre op was ‘valid’ for 3 months but they’d book my surgery . I did t get a call and I’ve called and called and each time either no answer or they take my details and say they’ll be in touch and nothing. That was about 8 weeks ago so the pre op assessments won’t be valid after 12 weeks.
The clinic even told me I hadn’t had a clinic appt back in July and they couldn’t ‘see’ anything on the system - I said I have my clinic letter - this is the name of the dr I saw under another drs clinic I can email this if you need me to as proof , then they found the letter.
I keep calling but getting nowhere do I go there and ask to speak to someone?
AIBU to be so frustrated or is this how it is ? I’ve never needed or had surgery before and being in pain and not getting anywhere and going to these appts that didn’t even exist is so annoying !
