This is gross, please don't read on if you are easily groased out...

Ok so me and teenage aon sat watching tv, and suddenly the unmistakable sound of him blowing his nose.... over an inserted finger..... which i know will go into his mouth -after inspecting the contents

I dont even have to glance his way to check hes definitely doing that

So the same conversation kicks in

Me: "stop that now, if you need to blow your nose get a tissue"
GTS: Why?
Me "because its gross and disgusting and I've raised you better, now go wash your hands"

Today though, it was different, not the grunt and complaining about soap and water i have become used to. Today i heard:
GTS: "I am helping the environment and making it healthier"
Me "how do you figure that one"
GtS: because i am not expelling bacteria into the environment to infect others and I am destroying the source of any infection with my stomach acid

EnvyEnvyEnvy

Am I the only mother who struggles with such a GTC and please share your horror stories so I know I am not alone

aibu to evict him from my home and not let him returrn until he learns not to be ao gross?

There is a silver lining, apparently his dad also tells him to stop it cos its gross ... finally something we agree on GrinSmile

I'd throw up in his lap and tell him I'm helping the environment too

My teenage son has done a poo💩so huge that even will a poo knife, partial extrication with dog poo bags and multiple flushing will require a plumber's assistance tomorrow.

It's an absolute monster turd. I can't believe it came out of a human being.

He just left it in the toilet to be found and sorted. He has not yet admitted it was him.

Teenage boys can be exceptionally disgusting. I feel your pain.

PollyPut · 24/11/2023 22:16

I'd start by putting a box of tissues next to the sofa...

Mum2jenny · 24/11/2023 22:18

Teenage sons can be really gross imo

I remeber doing that a lil while ago, he developed a tissue chewing habit.

Omg these are so funny 😂.
I bet they both had lovely manners when they were toddlers.

BalthazarTheCamel · 24/11/2023 23:48

Mine used to phone me up and fart down the phone at me….

They are gross😵‍💫

how do they find pretty teenage girls to fall in love with them??

Poinsetta2023 · 25/11/2023 00:01

Why do you all put up with this behaviour? Good grief I have a son and none of this behaviour would have been tolerated.

Ok so me and teenage aon sat watching tv, and suddenly the unmistakable sound of him blowing his nose.... over an inserted finger..... which i know will go into his mouth -after inspecting the contents

In this scenario I’d have asked him to remove himself from the room and behave like a human being. Why do you put up with this? That’s beyond disgusting.

@Tooshytoshine you take him into the toilet and he deals with it.

@BalthazarTheCamel If he doesn’t speak, hang up.

I see so many threads on here from women who are married to these abominations of men whose mothers haven’t taught them manners or how to behave in a socially acceptable way.

It’s all a big joke though isn’t it? I wonder how this thread would go with girls behaving like this?

how do they find pretty teenage girls to fall in love with them??

Its such a shame some girls do and think this behaviour is the norm.

LonelyAndLostToo · 25/11/2023 06:52

@Poinsetta2023 how do you read a thread and get it so very wrong. There is nothing here about teens getting away with it, just sharing the gross things they do, theres nothing wrong with using mumsnet for a bit of tongue in cheek camaraderie, its a positive thing foe mental health.

No responsibility on the Father's part to teach those good manners/that socially acceptable behaviour??

Father's with all of their rights and no responsibility

Certainly not. If a father had posted this I’d be saying the same to them, however it was two mothers that posted about their sons.

Tooshytoshine · 25/11/2023 08:38

@Poinsetta2023

My son is a lovely, caring, young man - who is thirteen. He is the sort of boy that carries shopping to the car for old ladies, plays endlessly, cuddles and teaches his little sister and a teacher at his school told me he once told her to tell a female student she had a stain from her period and he didn't want her to be embarrassed. His room is tidy and he does his chores. He has two excellent mums (no dad) and is respectful and kind to women.

He is still at the feral stage though and no I would not suggest anyone marries my thirteen year old son - let him at least get through puberty first.

As for his involvement with the poo - he wielded the poo knife! Scooped the poop! And laughed uproariously at my absolute horror at the elephant poo in the toilet!
