That the standard answer to a money issue is 'stick it on a credit card?'

On app so can't poll

I read so many threads where the OP is having some kind of financial issue, and the MN hive mind is 'stick it on a credit card'
I assume that EVERY MN on here has access to unlimited 0 percent credit cards?
It's simply not the answer for some. I don't have and can't get a credit card, loan or overdraft. I can't be the only one?

i am guessing the advice is tailored to the OP

whereas if you came on and said my credit is so appalling that i don’t have any kind of loan or CC and no chance of getting one - no one would advise you to get one

It is generally monumentally bad advice anyway.

the people who have ready access to plenty of credit and 0% cards have it because they don’t carry debt they can’t afford.

if I put something on a 0% card it’s because I have the money in the bank earning interest and would rather keep it there.

No, the standard answer is "get rid of Netflix, sell some clothes on Ebay, and take in some ironing"....
