My friend does this all the time, she'll call me (on speakerphone) then her dh or teen will interrupt and instead of saying 'I'm on the phone' will enter into a conversation with them. It's never a short answer it's almost as if she's forgotten I'm on the phone and at times she'll tell me to 'hang on a minute'

Of course if it's an emergency do what you have to do but to answer questions about what's for dinner, where such and such is all mundane things that can wait. Is it me or is this just so bloody rude?

I'm going to hang up next time.

Omfg dont get me started on this. I've got this problem with my bf and I find it really ignorant. If my daughter interrupts I tell her I'm on the phone or will say excuse me for a minute and then apologise when I'm back. He doesnt do this. His son constantly interupts, and I mean 5 or 6 times in a ten min phone call. And its always stuf that can wait. Bf will go into a full blown conversation with him and start asking him long winded questions. There was one time where he actually rang me whilst having a conversation with someone else! And I couldn't work out for the life of me if he was talking to me or them most of the time. To my shame I've hung up before when it's gone on too long.

I always hang up. I don’t have time for that! It’s incredibly rude

One of my pet hates. So rude.
