To tell you how to turn off contact sharing on iPhone?

Sorry if this thread has been done, I did a quick search but couldn't see anything.

Since the update to iOS 17.1.1 it will now offer to share your contact card if you place your iphone next to another iPhone.

This can be very dangerous if you are being approached by someone who won't take no for an answer. Now you can't get away with giving a fake number and your real phone number immediately appears on screen and can be seen. This is really poor and very worrying from a safety perspective. It's on by default but you can turn it off.

To turn it off go to:
Settings
General
Airdrop
Toggle off Bringing Devices Together

Please pass this info on to your friends and family who need it.

Thanks for sharing that. It sounds like the type of idea that sounds great in theory but doesn't account for the real world and how predatory and dangerous some people are.
