Waiting for buyer to sign contract.

I accepted an offer on my house seven weeks ago. The buyer is a cash buyer, he said he won't be getting any survey done on the house as the house is cheap and he is a plumber/electrician by trade himself.

Contracts were sent to his solicitor six weeks ago. He hadn't signed the contract. My estate agent has rang and asked him when he was going to to twice. The last time my estate agent rang the buyer, the buyer said that he "hoped to go in and sign the contract on a date two weeks ago".

He still hasnt signed anything. It has been seven weeks since the offer was made. Is this a normal length of time. It seems like a very long time to me. But it's my first time selling a house.

I don't really want to ring my estate agent to get him to ring the buyer again and ask the buyer what is going on, as this might annoy the buyer.

But how long can he leave me waiting. I have to move house myself . I'm not sure what to do
