Looking ahead to Christmas, I know, I’m sorry!

DS loves 1 Million and Sauvage, possibly the two most popular fragrances (I think) and already owns them.

Any other recommendations for this age group?

Sorry, I know it’s AIBU, but I haven’t started my Christmas shopping yet so need some ideas! 😃

Are 17 year olds wearing Sauvage?! Feels a bit mature to me. I only just bought a bottle of Sauvage Elixir at 38. Even then, I only bought it because I wore a sample to a work event and 5 people asked me what I was wearing within 10 minutes of walking in the door. I still feel like it's too mature for me 🤣.

Anyway, I don't know but I was in Boots looking for something a few weeks ago and the new Yves Saint Laurent scent was out. It's called Myself and it's the one that Austin Butler is in all the ads for. It wasn't for me but it was nice and it seems to be a big success.

buttercupcake · 14/11/2023 10:55

This is more of a body spray then a perfume, but I know the Sol de Janeiro fragrances are popular with that age group.

Wellhellooooodear · 14/11/2023 11:05

Flipping heck, Sauvage! I'd have thought a squirt of lynx would suffice but then I have to pester my 11 year old soap dodger to have a shower. Clearly I'm in for an expensive time in a few years!

Snow61113 · 14/11/2023 11:07

I have 2 teenage sons(15 & 17)
both have similar tastes in fragrances.
I’ve bought.. Armani stronger with you for Christmas. Nipped to the local Boots and got a testers first though.
They both gave a few suggestions to me in advance. like you, mine have the Sauvage and I was stuck.
Hope this helps.

Shit, is Le Male a thing with the youngsters? I bough a bottle a few months ago for old times sake. Might need to ditch it 🤣

Notthecarwashagain · 14/11/2023 11:22

DS likes Paco Rabanne Phantom.
I bought it back from duty free last year because I liked the bottle, and he’s put it on his Christmas list for this year

divinededacende · 14/11/2023 11:31

Actually, OP, I jut thought of something else. I don't know if you've come across it but the Fragrance Store does Scent Addict which is a monthly subscription and you get to pick a new scent every month. You get an atomiser and they deliver glass spray vials every month that you can swap out. ScentBox does something similar but with different tiers. You could start with one of the suggestions so he has something to open on the day and then he gets to pick a bit of everything over the course of a year. The vials generally last a month unless you're dousing yourself in it daily.

It might not be suitable for your DS, I know some kids prefer to have the a bottle of something to show off but thought it was worth mentioning.

Snow61113 · 14/11/2023 14:27

divinededacende 🤣 it’s a thing. I’m not up to speed with stuff. I’m off the Joop, Tommy Girl and Cool waters era 🫣 I’d of picked anything!

It’s quite popular in DS’s circle of friends 😆

Thanks for the Myself suggestion, I will add this to my sniff test list 😃

Thanks @buttercupcake have to admit I’ve never heard of these fragrances so going to Google. Any particular one?

DS was a soap dodger age 11, 360 turnaround now, start saving! 😆

Thanks for the suggestions @Snow61113 😃 Will check these out when I’m in Boots later this week! Have to admit, one of my favourites is 1 Million which DS had for his birthday, it’s lovely. I loved it so much I bought Lady Millions for myself! 🤣

That’s something we could look into, thank you.

DS does love the aesthetics of the bottle as well as the fragrance but if the scent is good enough for him, I’m sure he could compromise 🤔

Following because my 15yo DS has suddenly expressed an interest in fragrances and started talking about seasons etc Confused I was not expecting this at all Grin

Apparently he likes winter scents if anyone knows what that means?

Boots often do little gift sets with 3-5 sample sized bottles of proper branded perfumes that I remember really treasuring when I received it around that age. I was thinking of getting something like that for him.

Seaglass7 · 14/11/2023 17:53

Thanks everyone!

I’ve only just realised there are replies to my thread, I posted last night but thought it had died a death! 🤣

I’m not sure what he means about Winter scents @BertieBotts?

Can’t beat Sauvage or 1 Million, these both seem to be popular and if you can buy while on offer at Boots, even better!

Great idea about the gift set though!
