I do my hair myself. Very occasionally I'll feel that something is outside of my ability and will go to a salon.
Went to a really well regarded salon + stylist last week. Guy has huge insta following, pics of gorgeous colours etc. Loads of good Google reviews.
I went in with level 8/9 blonde hair (had stripped copper colour out) and told him that my hair was resistant at the roots and porous on the ends. I wanted a root smudge in a level 7 blonde and and my mid-lengths and ends either toned to a less brassy blonde or maybe a tiny hint of a pink/rose in the blonde but emphasised I wanted blonde.
I ended up with a too dark flat muddy brown all over and a DARKER pink on the mids and ends. So the fucking reverse of a root smudge.
I told him how unhappy I was and that I felt I'd come in with a great blank canvas blonde and left with something that in no way reflected what I had asked for.
He charged me for the trim but not the colour. Said that it will lighten and that if I get in touch in a few weeks I can go back to have it "fixed" and he'll charge me at that point. He didn't apologise and tried to blame it on my hair type (which I had fully explained to him).
I have zero intention of going back and am in fact sat here with colour remover on my head as I hated what he did so much.
AIBU to not contact him?
