Has anyone else had this? Moved countries and got new sim for my phone. Everything has worked swimmingly for the past week. Went to message a friend this evening and got the above message. I’ve asked for it to be reviewed, but this hasn’t happened before. I had to go into the settings to get it to accept the new number as my old number was still showing for everyone, which was a bit weird, but I’ve been happily using it since then. Any ideas? Do I need a new phone?

It means your phone number has been banned or restricted by WhatsApp, usually happens with spam/bot accounts. Just see what happens with the appeal would be the advice I suppose.

Thank you. It’s a bit odd as my office gave me the SIM card and it belonged to the person I’ve replaced.

DD's phone said that at one stage, I believe it's because I had set something in parental controls that told it she wasn't 13 so it wouldn't allow it. Might be worth checking all the settings?

If it’s a corporate sim, WhatsApp might be banned. But hate probably more likely than them having been banned.

Dh's work phone doesn't allow WhatsApp either.

It’s a work phone and most of our work seems to be done by WhatsApp! I’ll report it to the office tomorrow, and see what WhatsApp says when they review it. I got it on Friday and have literally sent about three messages.
