To ask if you ever have a Goes Wrong Day? (Lighthearted)

Let me just get it out of the way. I know lots of people have much more important problems and heartache. I do too. My heart goes out to them/you.

But seriously , every single part of my day was rubbish.

I ordered shelves from Wickes, they got delivered today and every single one of them was damaged. Wickes have offered a princely 20% discount.

I have decorators in, and every time I try to sit down, they call me out from the garden with a drip drip of questions. The minute I go upstairs, they need me downstairs. If I sit downstairs, they chose that moment to have a massive shit in the powder room next to the living room where I am.

I spent my day chasing replacements for defective blinds, and getting totally inept replies from the supplier, three months after they admitted the blinds are defective and promised a free replacement (which never arrived). If I have to tell them my original order number one more time, I may lose it.

I got stuck in a huge traffic jam picking my son up from school. A 20 minute drive took over an hour.

Walking the dog tonight in an off-lead area, the dog had a poop then immediately started chasing a cat, which was chasing a fox, and off we all went like fucking gingerbread men. I managed to get hold of the dog, went back to pick up the poop, and stepped in it.

Came home, decided to treat myself with Chinese food delivery. None of my local faves were taking orders. Ordered from a different place. Waited 90 minutes and they sent me the wrong food. Called to ask for my food, was told it would arrive in 20 minutes with free seaweed. Food arrived - no seaweed.

Have I done something to the universe?

And now I’ve killed a thread before it started. I should have seen it coming.

Some days just go like that don't they. Mine wasn't quite the same as yours but I'd had enough by 10am, so:

  • kids woke at 5am only managed to stay quiet until 5:30 so I got up then
  • dd2 (4y/o) wanted to help with breakfast. Made more mess than I've ever seen but she was very proud of herself.
  • dd2 then broke a shelf from the storage unit in the play room. Not the end of the world, it is a cheap fake kallax style unit we bought in lock down, been meaning to replace with an actual kallax. But I've now got to get a new one, clear the room out, build it and put everything back.
  • realised DD's school trousers were still damp as they were getting ready - hairdryer to the rescue
  • packed them all off to school and DH off to the gym only to realise that dd spilt the last of the milk while making breakfast. So no tea until DH got back at 11:30!!!!

The past 6 years of my life is like that, not a single day with something going wrong. At the moment, it is car trouble, heating and electric shower not working. Can’t find a bloody electrician to fix the electric shower, plumber will come only in 2 weeks to fix the heating so we are having cold water wash, will cost around £ 500 to get it fix and same for the car so around £ 1000 which means no holiday next year as I have to dig into the holiday fund to pay for the repair. When I think I will be back on track another disaster arise.

Thank you @loveulotslikejellytots @ErinAoife , misery does love company - as awful as this sounds I feel better knowing it’s not just me having a bad day. Xx
