Looking for advice from other international/expat/posted families, if this is a good idea.
Considering applying for a job posting aboard, a three year posting in an Eastern European country where DH has family. It worried if moving would negatively impact the kids, 9 and 7. They lived in the UK until they were respectively 4 an 2, since then we’ve been in my native country in the Nordics. Now this really great job opportunity has come up, which would be good for my career and allow us to be near DH’s family and culture for a while. But the kids are well settled in a very good school where there may not be spaces when we returned if we left. I’m also worried about the psychological impact on them moving around a lot, they lived two different places in UK the first years of their lives and already lived two places in our current country too. On the other hand, it could be an adventure for us all that the kids may benefit from too, and it would help our financial situation which isn’t great right now. What’s your experiences and advice?
